Dr. Caroline Mathias offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for women with both common and complex gynaecological conditions. Following fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery, her practice focuses on minimally invasive techniques, with the aim of reducing postoperative pain, shortening recovery time, and optimising long-term outcomes.
Dr. Mathias is among a select group of gynaecological surgeons to have completed a two-year fellowship that included extensive robotic surgical training. Passionate about surgical education, she founded the Nepean Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery (GLS) program and remains actively involved in teaching and mentoring trainees. Committed to continual learning, she regularly visits internationally recognised centres of excellence, including the Mayo Clinic and IFEM Endo, Bordeaux to further refine her skills and bring contemporary, evidence-based surgical care to her patients.

Office Gynaecological Procedures
Dr. Mathias performs a range of office-based procedures, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertions and removals, colposcopy with or without cervical biopsy, and vulval biopsies.

Hysteroscopic Procedures
Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows direct visualisation of the inside of the uterus using a small camera passed through the cervix.

Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic & Robotic) Surgery
As an AGES-accredited gynaecological surgeon with advanced laparoscopic skills credentialed to the highest level of benign Gynaecological surgery (Level 6B), Dr. Mathias utilises minimally invasive surgical techniques to manage a broad range of benign and complex gynaecological conditions.

Robotic-assisted surgery is an advanced form of minimally invasive ("keyhole") surgery that allows procedures to be performed through small incisions using specialised robotic instruments and a high-definition 3D camera.
