Dr Caroline Mathias Specialist Gynaecological Surgeon Sydney Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Robotic Surgery Procedures

Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic & Robotic) Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery uses specialised instruments and a high-definition camera inserted through small incisions in the abdomen. Compared with traditional open surgery, laparoscopic and robotic assisted techniques are associated with less postoperative pain, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and smaller scars.

As an AGES-accredited gynaecological surgeon with advanced laparoscopic skills credentialed to the highest level of benign Gynaecological surgery (Level 6B), Dr. Mathias utilises minimally invasive surgical techniques to manage a broad range of benign and complex gynaecological conditions, including advanced endometriosis and fertility-preserving surgery. Her fellowship training in advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery allows her to offer contemporary, evidence-based surgical care tailored to each patient's individual needs.
